3 LIGHTROOM Tips Portrait Photographers SHOULD KNOW!

Ciao, photographers!

As a wedding and portrait photographer, you might often find yourself overwhelmed by the complex editing tasks that come with the job.

Tasks like color correction, skin retouching, and batch editing can be time-consuming and exhausting.

But what if I told you there are ways to simplify these tasks and elevate your work to produce fine art images?

In my recent YouTube video, I shared three essential Lightroom tips that every portrait and wedding photographer should know. If you haven't watched it yet, I highly recommend you do.

But in this blog post, I'll provide a summary of the points discussed in the video.

Firstly, we talked about the power of presets.

These are a game-changer and can significantly speed up your editing process. Presets allow you to apply a consistent aesthetic to your photos with just a single click. This not only saves you time but also ensures your editing style remains consistent. I will be dedicating an entire video to presets, so if you're curious about the best presets that I've tested over the years, make sure you subscribe to the channel or to the newsletter.

Should you require assistance in crafting custom presets tailored to various lighting situations or specific shooting locations, I am here to provide expert help.

Secondly, we discussed the Match Total Exposures feature.

This feature is so crucial, it should be a clear button in Lightroom, not hidden. One click can save you hours and help create a matching set of photos. Lightroom works to make the other selected photos match your first choice.

In addition to these tips, I also shared a useful trick on how to create shortcuts for the "Match Total Exposures" feature: click here for quick instructions.

Lastly, the game-changer: the AI masking tool.

This tool allows for precise selection and adjustment of specific areas in an image, whether it's a subject, an object, the sky, or the background. But what's remarkable about it is that you only need to make adjustments once. Then, with batch editing, you can copy and paste these AI masks to a similar batch of images.

I can assure you that these techniques will elevate your portrait and wedding photos and make editing easier.

Remember, practice improves results, and I'm here to help you every step of the way.

So, head over to the video to learn more about these tips in detail. Don't forget to subscribe for more invaluable tips and tutorials which will take your portrait editing to the next level.

Thank you for being part of this community, and I hope these tips will help you in your journey to produce fine art beautiful images. 🩷
